The fillet must be done in such a way that the glass can be laid out and come in complete contact with the superstructure of the boat. In that sense, the fillet becomes a critical aspect of the surperstructure of teh kayak since it is what allows the glass to contact the boat during the glassing process. Get that right and you won't have any problems in future with panels suddenly springing off the sides or bottom while you're doing a major ocean crossing. Breaking them in half, now that's another skill, one that I have mastered well. ;-)
