Launching of Matukituki

follow the link to photos of the big launching yesterday of a Kiwi built West River 180, in Wanaka, from the New Kayak Shop. Boat goes great, lots of speed and about two thirds the weight of my girlfriends plastic Tasman Express. Not so stable however, surfs well, gotta keep the power on to retain stability, can't wait to do some overnighters! Very straight tracking, all in all very pleased. Many contemplatory beers shared during the build and lots of practical ideas from my other half! appreciated after I learned that it wasn't a competition. Recommended to anyone as a very rewarding project. Project time three months nights and weekends. Cheers Warren
