Before Mr. Harris weighs in to sort all this out, I'd just like to say that as long as you can pass an old pair of pantyhose )or a silk scarf if you're rich), over every part of the hull without snagging, then you're ready to glass. The idea of sanding is to allow the fiberglass to smooth out over the hull without hanging up anywhere. If your wood has no stains and looks good when you pass a wet cloth over it, then don't sand any more than you need to.
