If you can audition a manufactured seat - and that means paddling for an hour or two - and it works for you - GREAT! Then it's worth the money.

The point of minicell is that you custom make the seat for you - and you alone.

It's a matter of comfort - minicell isn't exactly cheap and you invest a lot of time carving it.

I'd love to find a redi-built, but I've come to realize, in my rather short paddling career, that it probably ain't gonna happen for me.

Besides, builders love to build. I'm sure we'd grow our own gabbon and forge our own hardware if we could.

Just my 2 cents Cdn. (And we know what THAT's worth!)
