Oh, One More Thing
Posted by Kurt Maurer on Jan 27, 2005
Secure the seat blank to a workbench while shaping; I use a 4'x4' sheet of 3/4" plywood on sawhorses. Then I clamp 6" long sections of old 4x4 cedar fence post on either side of the foam blank to hold it still while I work it.
This helps immensely, especially to keep the spinning disk from taking off on you when it grabs. Start in the big middle, so you get a chance to learn how to handle the stupid thing.
Cheers, Kurt
