Mac, I think Terry beds his brass half oval in epoxy in addition to screwing it down. I don't think that it would be easy to replace either. I think all marine use sealing/bedding compounds are notoriously difficult to remove. Sealing and bedding compounds may not be exactly the same thing I guess I'm thinking of Dupont 5200 type stuff.
