Trip Report mc 16.5

Even though it isn't quite done (no combing, hatches, seats, footpegs,etc) Since it was 68 F on New years day my 8 yr old daughter and I took the Mill Creek 16.5 for a short ride. I had sanded the top and it still needed it's last layer of epoxy so it looked pretty bad. The river was like glass but the water was cold (well it would have been extremely warm to the Canadians). I thought the boat went pretty well, easier to paddle thatn a canoe. I got lots of water in the boat, I need longer paddles. We had fun, now hopefully I can finnish the boat. I did put epoxy on the deck when we got back.
