Joe Greenley Lashing Tabs
Posted by Greg G. on Dec 23, 2004
I am considering my options for both the bungee rigging and closing the hatches - based on some of the discussions here and some of the nice links people have supplied I am leaning toward the Joe Greenley style - but I have a few questions possibly some of you could help me with?
1. As the hole in the hull that the tab comes through creates somewhat of a depression that would hold water (as wicked by the webbing loop) for quite some time - anyone experienced any moisture damage with this type of hull penetration, even after coating the inside of the slot with epoxy?
2. Assuming this is a durable attachment method - how far away from the hatch opening should the slots be? Please let me know if you are measuring from the hatch lid, or the opening.
3. And finally it sounds like two straps on the front hatch and three on the back? Any comments to the contrary?
Thanks in advance for the info.
Greg
