Re: Hatches - better clas

I've made up some carbon-fibre hooks that I've epoxied onto the lips of my hatch. The idea is to have a rope loop that zigzigs from loops at the shear up to the hooks and back and forth. Since the hooks extend out they flex the hatch at the edges more than the buckles. And the zigzag acts as a pulley system to increase the pull force. And what's more, they look really spiffy. BUT - I haven't actually tried it yet. I'm trying to do more on my double. I'll post pictures IF it works. The hooks are based on Vaclav Stejskal's deck hardware.
