Gees, it's been so long since I built a kit boat that I must be behind the times on current building methods.
I don't recall ever seeing directions that required the cockpit to be glassed up to the sheer clamps. I mean, it's nice and all, but is it really necessary on a boat with a glassed hull?
Also, using a few squeegees (large, small and curved) can really reduce the amount of excess epoxy left in the boat as well as help force the epoxy into the wood and glass.
