Re: Lofting in the Offing

My rope slings were only disconnected once when I put the boat up for the first time. They are fixed at the right size to hold the boat up and away from the garage door. I stick one end in its sling then pull the boat back while my wife or kid slips the second sling over the other end of the yak. Next the boat gets centered in the slings. Then to prove I am fully anal about it I link the bottom of the two slings with a web strap so they can not slip if the yak gets bumped by me with a ladder for example. BTW, I used rope for the slings since I did not have any web straps long enough. I normally have lots of rope around.
