Thanks so much for the quickie education: Bead and Cove 101 for Dummies.

I'm certainly going to get Nick's bible now that I'm sure this is attainable for the likes of me.

I guess when it comes to sticking the shaped strips together, it's a good idea to have many ready to go and then mix up the epoxy. This may be one advantage of a colder work space - longer working time.

I'm sure Terry and I both like the sound of strong backs - just wish the term applied to us!

As an aside, it's supposed to warm up a touch later in the week here in Montreal. I'll trundle the Sea Lion (with modified stern) over to the put-in to try out my neoprene boots and paddling gloves along with my new compass and charts. I'm reading David Burch's Fundamentals of Kayak Navigation, and probably know just enough to get into trouble. Can you say "Dead Reckoning"? (What a scarey term, until David explained that dead is really ded (for deduced). 'Course in my case....
