Outgassing is directly proportional to the temperature variation from cold to hot. I redesigned the stern of my kayak last week. This meant cutting into the finished wood. I then applied a strip of 9 oz fiberglass in 60 degree temperature. I wanted it to cure quickly so I aimed a spot light at it overnight. End result - an Aero Bar! The gas comming out of that end grain was awsome!
Thank goodness it's a painted hull!
I want my next yak to be all bright (unlike the builder). I'll have to have the patience to not force the curing with heat.
