I would definitely double it up. That combing will take a beating over the years and 4m is pretty light stock for the nearly vertical combing on the MC 16.5. I also installed a slightly heavier ash combing rim molding along the top edge to make it even stronger. However, I do intend to sail my MC, so other parts of the boats were strengthend also.

So much for the combing attractions!
