Cutting Flush Hatches

Does anyone have a good way for cutting flush hatches so they are nice and neat? A friend of mine suggested making a template for a rotozip and using that to make a nice smooth cut, but the thinnest kerf they have is 1/8". I've seen all your pics with your beautifullt smooth curves for hatches... how did everyone do that?
