a little short

Hey everyone, I'm building a couple Mc13's. I cut all my hull pieces a while back. Then I took all similar pieces clamped them together then sanded so all boards were the same. I just finished sanding this afternoon, then I took then pieces and laid them on the paper templates. Well it looks like I am a little short on the width, all over. It varies between 1/8 to a little more than 1/4 short. The lenght is just about dead on. I assume that as long as the pieces that are going to be scarfed together are the same width I am ok the boat will just be 1/2 inch shorter. But a long time ago my grandmother told me assuming only makes an a**-of-u-and-me. What do you guys think?
