I have just finished my 17 and I relied heavily on the New Kayak Book which uses the 16 as an example. The only differnce in construction that I can see is an extra scarf to get the length in the panels. I weigh 210lb and I wouldn't want a boat any bigger than the 17. When you say the 18, are you referring to the wr18? If so, then that boat is a multi-chine so construction will be different (basic processes will be the same though) Cheers
