Gloves vs Pogies

Hi from the soon -to- be frigid north (Montreal).

I'm heading into my first fall season with a kayak after happily paddling all summer. I've got neoprene booties - which I think are great - and am trying to decide whether to buy neoprene gloves or pogies(sp).

Are they used for differing conditions? Should I get both? Does the left hand pogie allow the feathered paddle to rotate? Help me...
