It'd be a lot easier to just cut off some toes. It's bad enough for me with my size 12's, can't imagine the trouble a 12.5-er would have. It's not just kayaks, it's the wet suit booties, tennis shoes, etc. If you hack the yak, you're just covering up a symptom. Take the toes and you're fixing the problem. Sure, you'll have to learn how to walk all over again, but once you do, imagine the fun of hobbling into a shoe store and just getting a pair right off the rack. No more special orders, no more funny looks.
