tom,
do what mark said, first job is to sand it flat with the surrounding surface and ensure that whaterver remains is completely wet-out. (no air underneath the weave).
if there is, you have to remove any of the glass that is not wet out (a knife can be used to carefully cut cloth back to where it is properly coated).
once you have the area flat...continue your fill coats of epoxy. if there is a small depresion that you have in the area that you sanded the bump away from ...a couple extra swipes of epoxy on the spot should build it back up flush with the adjacent surface. (to make that easier..you can support the boat in a way that the depression is sitting flat so you can fill it with a couple drops of epoxy without worrying about it spilling)
should not be a big deal
