Re: shortning the beam

For the life of me I do not understand why someone pays good money for a professional set of plans and then decides they know a better way to build the boat. If you just reduce the width of the shear beam there will be no change in the wetted surface. However this reduced beam will result in losing secondary stability. If you want a narrower boat get plans that call for less beam.
