to stand up and cast a flyrod from a Mill Creek 16.5 if that helps. And I'm 63.

I built one but have never had the chance to paddle the boat. Just from looking at the hull compared to my cedar strip Chestnut Prospector canoe, I feel it would be more stable. The owner seems to feel really comfortable in it too.

I don't know that I'd change the freeboard. I think you'd be opening a real can of worms on fitting things (like the deck).
