Deck fiberglassing
Posted by Tom M. (MD) on Sep 15, 2004
In reading up on fiberglassing the deck in the manual there seems to be a conflict. First, it tells me to use clear packing tape along the hull line at the shear clamp so I won't have runs of epoxy on the hull. But then it goes on to say to drape the fiberglass over the deck with a 1 to 1-1/2" overhang and to wet these edges out with a brush.
Hmmm....why would I do that if there is packing tape under there?!!
So what do you guys do? Do you have an overhang or just trim the fiberglass at the deck edge?
Thanks!
