One problem we had with Sailrite was that they overstated the ability of our home sewing machine to sew through the multiple layers of sail cloth ("sure it will work - no problem"). The machine was damaged and required a fairly expensive repair. Even after it was repaired, it had to be hand-cranked in some areas of the sail.

Otherwise, the kit was well designed and yielded a beautiful sail.
