I have paddled the 15 on occassion and found it to be a very different design from either the 13 or the 16.5 in that it is a narrower, faster ans subsequently less stabile boat. If you're set on an open cockpit, the MC 13 is wider, more stabile, lighter and carries about the same weight. This being said, and given the fact that spray skirts are difficult to find and fit for this type of open cockpit, you may want to put your clients in a real sea kayak like the Chesapeake 16 for ocean kayaking. Their gear could easily be deck mounted and they do sell fishing rod deck holders.
