Thanks for the theory, John. Makes sense.
All I know is that a week in Maine will put more big dings in our boats than an entire summer in Nova Scotia. Love those round rock up there. They even have another use: we put in a pier this year with those square "stone cribs" they use up there. The contractor told us that the local round rocks pack more tightly in the cribs and make them heavier and more ice resistant.
