Unless the epoxy is very thick (in which case, probably should just trash it) one can dump it on any old way prior to squeegeeing. It will spread out nice and evenly, trust me. You may have to tip a few spots here and there, but very little.

By the way, you can make squeegees out of a variety of old plastic. I haven't bought a new one in years.
