working on the bottom

Posted by Steven Laughmiller on Sep 10, 2004

I hope to have a bright finished Ch 17 this year. I am getting ready to work on the hull; wires are cut and flush. Nothing has been sanded yet. Concerning the panel joints, after I sand them, they will need to be filled with thickened epoxy. Does this show with a bright finish? Do I use wood flour mix or silca for this? Is a random orbital sander the correct tool for the joints or just a sanding block? And what grit to start with. Sorry for the confusing questions; I have been reading too many sources concerning building and have gotten confused. Thanks.
