Re: stress crack

Depends on the size of the crack and location. If it's far enough back to work on the underside of the deck, you could ROS the underside along the crack with a coarse grit, then apply a layer of 6 oz. cloth and a few fill coats of epoxy. This would definitely strengthen the area, probably keep the crack from worsening and thus eliminate the need to repair the crack from the top.

Is your deck glassed on the top side? If so, the crack may not worsen that much and you could probably go years with it in there. You may get a bit of water penetration, maybe not.

I have a few small stress cracks in my boats that don't seem to cause any harm.
