after paddling Dereks Gulfstream,,,and paddling once with him as he was in a Northbay XL, cute comments on that one,I saw his video Beyond the Cockpit and got an immediate sense of what he was looking for in handling. Some folks don't like the Gulfstreams willingness to let water across the bow but it's just about perfect for providing a forgiving range of handling on a lean. There's a balance between a certain degree of tracking and maneuverability depending upon the shape of the ends. Sometimes you can tell what's intentional in design and what's purely accidental/incidental.
