As Sam Devlin writes in his book on stitch and glue boats: Devlin's rule is that whenever you have epoxy all over your hands you WILL need to scratch your nose".

The eye protection is to prevent you forgetting and rubbing your eyes or something which would be just awful to deal with if you got epoxy in or near your eyes.

I wear gloves to wash blush off. You won't have to do too much handling of cured goo normally. Once its cured enough not to transfer to your skin maybe?
