Tom,

You may be right about using the right paint the first time. But the outside of my boat is nowhere near ready for a final paint job. I'm impatient to take the boat out and use it, and I figure that getting the exterior looking really spiffy means several more weeks of sanding, applying fairing compound, waiting for it to dry, and more sanding. It's at the 80 grit stage right now, and the fillets are far from pretty.

So I'll have to do a lot of sanding next season anyway. I'll check my receipt, I'd have sworn I paid way over $30 for that quart of brightsides.

How long do I have to let the brightsides dry before putting the boat in the water?
