A number of the experienced builders (I'm not one) have said on this forum that if the surface is smooth and the weave disappears when you put water on, then you are not into the glass and do not need to add more epoxy unless you want to (see LeeG's advice on making sure you have enough epoxy for durability on high wear areas)

To be sure, I did a forum search on "spit test" and the above info was as above. I seem to recall Kurt explaining this really carefully with pictures, so if you want to research it further you might want to either visit his site or do a search on this forum, with him as the author and "spit test" or "weave" as search arguments. Also I imagine the CLC tips page probably covers it.
