epoxy sure seems like a live organic thing when it's setting up in thin coats. Epoxy paint must have additives to allow it to flow while it cures whereas adhesives are meant to pull together into a hard mess,,it doesn't want to lay flat. I recall the prez of MAS saying something to the effect that because we are using a laminating adhesive as a coating medium doesn't mean it's ideally suited for it. Kind of like choosing to use microballoons for fillet thickener. It works but there are better materials.
