Thanks. I appreciate the additional ideas. The magazine says the boat weighs 36 lbs and clc says its 40 lbs. I know the final weight has a lot to do with how careful you are with the epoxy. I don't recall the magazine mentioning any glass on the deck, so maybe that accounts for the reported weight difference. The weight thing is more of an engineering challenge than anything else. I don't expect that I could get it more than 3 to 5 lbs lighter.
