Bad Bulkhead Fillets
Posted by Brett on Aug 11, 2004
Hi all,
Im filleting the bulkhead fillets but am not very happy with the results. I have done the bow and stern sections and am just about to do the cockpit and am looking for a better method. When I mix my fillet batch to "peanut butter" consistency its pretty lumpy - kind of like crunchy peanut butter which means my bulkhead fillets dont look very nice. Under the keel and chine fillets its no big deal because the tape makes them look neat. I am thinking of using silica to thinken the mix and then a small amount of wood flour to color it - has any had any success in this area. Thanks
