Which boat? Assuming that it's a Chesapeake-type kayak, I wouldn't bother. Glass is either for adding abrasion resistance or strength, both at the expense of weight and money. The coaming does not need the extra strength since it's several layers of thick wood. And unless you plan on dragging it upside-down, it doesn't need the extra abrasion resistance either. So it'd just be a weight-increasing, time- and money-consuming expense as I see it.
