it's possible, those numbers are an amalgam of a calculated draft/displacement that have moved around since the models first showed up. HOW the kayak actually performs with a given weight will vary considerably according to the paddlers weight distribution , skill and conditions. I overloaded a kayak once just for a two mile paddle,,it was definately NOT designed for it but it was doable for barge work. Not something I would do in rough conditions. If this is open water paddling and an unskilled paddler then there are other issues than pushing the numbers.
