WR 18

Posted by Jim on Aug 7, 2004

Just got back to my home waters of Upper Chesapeake, Susquehanna River today.(Havre de Grace,MD) MY WR18 handles anything I throw at her. Today 15 knots of air & gusting, 1' chop with moter boat traffic & wakes bouncing off bulkheads We have been out in heavier weather. She handled it all beautifully. I have added a retractable skeg but have only used it minimally 1"-1.5" at the most & then only in following seas. She performed like a champ in the Pamlico & Currituck Sounds last week. We took my wifes CH 16 & the 18 & were out every day including the rainy ones.(missed the Hurricane) This boat has been finished for some time but has been going thru my shake down for the last 3 mos. All in all she performs just as forcast & maybe better. Thanks to CLC for the design & kit and to the forum for the input & feed back. This was my 3rd boat & last for a while.(I'm sure l'll regret saying that later) Its been fun & a pleasure. See you out there!!!
