With some of the newer more sophisticated designs the complex shapes demand using forms. Things like getting the bow to ride over a wave rather than digging in may require curves that the planks won't automatically accept. The folks at Oneocean have proven designs and aren't asking you to jump thru' a hoop for the hell of it. I'll bet if you built the boat the way Vaclav says you would see the logic of the building technique. Since you live in a place that has big water at every point of the compass you should make sure that what keeps your backside away from the sharks is put together by the book.
