Peter,

Basically I wrapped the deck beam in saran wrap and screwed it into the sheer from the inside instead of the outside. Then, when I put the deck on, I just didn't put any thickened epoxy on the deck beam. After I had my coaming on, and everything was dry, I just unscrewed the deck beam and yanked it out. It had a little sticking from some epoxy leakage, but came out with only a little bit of force. No problem at all.
