If you wish to remove your deck beam after deck installation, don't pre-coat the underside of the deck in the area where it meets the beam, and don't put any thickened epoxy on the beam. When the deck dries, you can cut the beam out, and coat the rest of the underside of the deck.
I've recently been using just one 1.5" wide layer of 4MM, bowed at the same radius as the deck beam and notched into the clamp with a dab of glue. Works well enough to give the deck the proper radius, is much lighter and easier to make, and give a bit more kee room.
