Al:

I've been cartopping a CLC Triple for about three years. The T-bar arrangement into a rear receiver hitch worked well for several thousand miles, even the ought the rear of the boat swayed 2-3 inches. Cost was about 160 dollars US. My current rig to carry both my LT17 and Triple simulatneaouly is composed of Qwik-N-Easy gutter mounts (manufactured by Northwest River Systems, sold by alltrec.com), to which I added 2x3 cedar crossbars with custom V-shaped hull cradles. This rides on a Volvo 940 wagon and allows for 6 foot plus bar spread. Rock solid even with both boats on it, total cost $80.
