It was LeeG, I believe, who pointed out how much extra epoxy/glass and weight one added by overlapping/overhanging by 1.5 to 2 inches. As I recall, he recommended a much smaller amount, maybe 1/2 inch or so? Maybe he'll see this and clarify.
