If you can find a Wilderness Systems AH, you could try that. The design is the same so you can see how it performs. Your chances are greater of finding one of those.

If you want to trek to Wisconsin, contact Mark Rogers of Superior Kayaks and he would likely let you demo one of his boats.

Having built an AH myself, I can tell you it is a very sweet boat and fabulous kit. The best kit boat out there. Good luck.
