Jon, I'm not certain how you can start stitching in the middle and assure that the bow and stern ends align. I started my CH16 at the bow as Mac indicated, progressing about 4 or 5 stitches side to side. And there is a very good chance that the stern ends may not match up exactly. That's where you filing and planing skills come into play.

And this really is a fun part!
