Drip Ring Location
Posted by Mac on Jul 13, 2004
Ya'll know I'm back when the IQ level on this forum free falls - like now.
I've noticed drip rings positioned on paddles anywhere from the junction of the blade to the shaft, to an inch or two from the paddler's hands. I've kept mine as far toward the blade as possible to keep the dripping water as far from the cockpit as I can. Am I missing something?
Oh, I've found what I think is the most important use for a cockpit cover - keeping the creepy crawlies from setting up house over night. I remember Chris Johnstone's account of the spider and had an identical experience - though mine only weighed a few ounces. You can't see 'em like in an open canoe, and they seem to love the dark.
