Bending Brace?

A deck bending brace? I've heard Betsie Bay Kayak uses a jig to build the deck on their boats. Sounds similar?

BTW, how do you like the AH? I'm only 5'7" 170lbs and suspect th AH may be more boat than I need for days trips...
