I was wondering about that with the A.Hawk but it's not that uncommon with some British P&H kayaks where the coaming is so tight to the deck ones finger can get caught underneath the coaming. VCPs plastic Avocet has a very rounded coaming with an indistinct overhang that requires a snug skirt to hold on. Personally I'd rather go with the standard 18mm stack or if I was building an A.Hawk increase the stack another 4mm to 16mm. ,for some inexplicable reason I made my Ch16 with another 4mm spacer on top of the two 9mm ones,,don't know why,,I think so that it would approximate the height my Mariner coaming.
