I have a borrowed inexpensive orbital sander and a Makita palm sanding. For some reason I think that the palm sanding works a lot better, in fact the orbital sander is a pain in the ass. With that being said I found myself first trying to a good, smoth epoxy application with a squegie when possible, then a carbide scraper, the hand sand. The hands on approach really lets you feel whats happening. Zen baby, Zen, yeah!
